7th grade classes--Today I gave students a preview of our next writing work. They will write and present a book talk on a work of historical fiction that they read. I told students that they would receive their book talk presentation date in the next week, so they need to get started on the book they choose.
8th grade classes--The 8th grade students will also write and present a book talk, but they are free to choose their genre--fiction or nonfiction.
We had Reader's Workshop today, and most students received their RRJ's back during class.
MONDAY--all classes have a schedule spelling and vocabulary test over unit 3. Students will need to spend some time with these words over the weekend. We've been working with them for two weeks.
