Wednesday

Today all classes took their unit 6 spelling and vocabulary test. We learned that it takes 14 exposures to a new word/phrase to really learn that word or phrase. We spent a lot of time in class reviewing the words and refreshing our memories over the last two weeks. I'm anxious to see the scores. (So are the handful of 8th graders who came to me after school, begging me to grade their tests because they were too anxious to wait :c)

Tomorrow we HAVE to move on to effective leads in our persuasive works. All students should be prepared to focus on that mini-lesson and draft more of their body paragraphs and lead paragraph.
